Oral, cervical and breast cancer cases, including common cancers, have increased rapidly across the country. According to data released by the National Health Profile, 2019, NCD Clinics has identified cancer cases between 2017 and 2018. This report says that cancer cases have increased more than three times in this one year interval by 324%.
According to the report, last year, 65 million people underwent cancer screening at NCD Clinics, out of which 1.6 million people were diagnosed with common cancer. That is, in addition to common cancers, other types of cancers are spreading rapidly.
Whereas in 2017 only 39,635 cases of cancer were seen. Between 2017 and 2018, the number of cancer victims in NCD clinics has also doubled.
In the first year, where a total of 3.5 crore cases of Kaiser were seen, the next year they had increased to 6.6 crore. Experts believe that people’s changing lifestyles, stress, eating habits, alcohol and tobacco consumption have been the major reasons for this.
The highest number of cancer cases have been reported from Gujarat. In the year 2017, 3,939 cancer victims were confirmed in Gujarat. At the same time, this number increased to 72,169 in 2018.
That is, new cases of common cancer in Gujarat have increased by 68,230. After Gujarat, the worst condition has been in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana and West Bengal.
